“Café Tati” has been around for a few years now but it hasn’t lost its special touch. It’s a cozy place- white stone walls full of little pictures hanging, a couple of bookshelves, big and small wooden tables, a couple of couches- where you’ll find all sorts of people- multiple languages can be heard at any time. It’s just one of those Lisbon staples you might not go to every week but never forget it’s there, and eventually make your way back.
The menu offers toasts, salads, snacks, a very nice brunch and a few choices of daily dishes and appetizers. The dessert section should not be overlooked, one favourite being the chocolate cake- a fluffy cake with an inside that oozes liquid chocolate! Occasionally, they host special events, such as wine tastings or a mushroom & old wine themed night. A good way to try new flavours for a modest price.
However, the thing Café Tati is probably best known for is their jazz afternoons. Sunday afternoon, starting at 17h, people flock the cozy sofas and settle in for the perfect way to say goodbye to the weekend- a glass of wine, or tea, something sweet, and some soothing jazz. It’s a lovely way to relax and read a book or catch up with old friends. Anything to make that weekend last a little longer :)
